When is Registration?YVYSO has two different seasons - the Spring Season and the Fall Season. Spring Season registration usually opens in January. Fall Season registration usually opens around May/June. Fall usually fills up quickly and we have to start turning people away due to being at capacity. So, register early!

Where or how do I register?Registration can be done in one of two ways - online or in person (walk up registration). If you would like to register online, go to www.yucaipasoccer.com/register and follow the links and prompts. You will be redirected to the Cal South website where you will either create a new account or login to an existing account. From there you can register and pay. If you would prefer to register in person, you can register during one of our Walk Up registrations. We typically have 3-5 Walk Up registration periods. Visit the registration page to find out specific dates and times of Walk Up registration periods.

What paperwork do I need to register?For new players, you will need to present your player's birth certificate. If you register online, you can upload a copy of your birth certificate to your Cal South profile. If you register in person during one of our Walk Up registration periods, bring a your birth certificate to present to the staff. For returning players who have played with YVYSO in the past, you do not need to present your birth certificate. We can verify your player's birth using the profile generated in the past seasons.

How old does my child have to be to be able to play?YVYSO accepts players between the ages of 4 and 17. For fall season, your child must turn 4 by July 31st. For Spring Season, your child must have turned 4 by July 31st of the previous year. However, the cutoff date dictated by Cal South may slightly vary season-to-season and year-to-year. Check the registration page to find out more for each particular season.

What is the Refund Policy?1. Full Refund Eligibility A full refund will be granted if the refund request is submitted at least one (1) day prior to the player draft date for the respective Spring or Fall season. Please note that draft dates may vary by season. 2. Request Procedure All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to: registrar@yucaipasoccer.org The request must be sent by the parent or legal guardian and must include the following information to ensure proper identification and removal from the registration system: Player's full name (first and last) Player's date of birth 3. Refunds After Draft Date Refund requests received after the player draft date will be subject to a $25 processing fee, which will be deducted from the original registration amount. Refunds after the draft date will require approval by the YVYVO Board of Directors. Players who have attended practice or participated in any games are not eligible for a refund. 4. Injury Exception If a player becomes injured and is unable to participate in the season, a refund may be issued upon submission of a written request, subject to a $25 processing fee. Supporting documentation (e.g., doctor’s note) may be required. Refunds due to injury will require approval by the YVYVO Board of Directors. 5. Board Approval Requirement Refund requests that do not meet the conditions outlined above will require approval by the YVYSO Board of Directors. 6. Processing Time Please allow up to 30 days from the date the refund request is received for processing and issuance of the refund.

What is Fall Season soccer?The Fall Season is the primary soccer season. It is a fun, competitive, 10-week program consisting of 2 practices and 1 game per week. Fall Season includes fundraisers, pizza parties, photos, All-Stars, and standings. Teams compete to participate in the Commissioner's Cup tournament in December.

When does Fall Season start?Registration for Fall Season typically opens in August. First practices begin in September and games are from September through November.

How long is Fall Season?Fall Season is a 10-week program. Practices will typically start a few weeks prior to the start of the season. Once the 10-week program has finished, the top 2 teams in each division (except U6 and U8) will continue on to compete in the Commissioner's Cup. Players are also eligible for All-Stars which is typically held in November/December.

What is Spring Season soccer?Spring Season is a fun, non-competitive 6-week program consisting of 1 practice and 1 game per week. The Spring is off-season and does not consist of fundraisers, raffles, pizza parties, photos, All-Stars, or standings. It is simply for the fun of soccer. Spring Season soccer is an excellent way for those new to the sport to get introduced to the game in a non-competitive way. It's also great for those seasoned players that are wanting to continue the participation in the sport of soccer.

How old does my child have to be to be able to play Spring Season?For Spring Season, your child must have turned 4 by July 31st of the previous year. For example, if you are registering for the 2024 Spring Season, your child must have turned 4 by July 31st, 2023.

How much gameplay does each player get?YVYSO utilizes a 75% play rule. This means that each player on the team is entitled to play at least 75% of the game (three quarters). A few exceptions may prevent or warrant a player not playing 75% of a game including sickness, injury, parent election, or in-game penalty. In special cases when registration numbers are high and teams have more than average number of players, YVYSO has used a 50% play rule with similar requirements and exceptions. Are referees provided?YVYSO provides referees for U10, U12, U14, and U18 games. U6 and U8 games a managed and refereed by the coaches.

Where are games played?Games are played at the Rick McCown Soccer Complex at 34240 Oak Glen Rd, Yucaipa, CA 92399. Typically, games are played on Saturdays. For seasons where registration numbers are high, games may be played on Friday afternoons as well.

What size ball do I need?U6 and U8 players need a Size 3 ball. U10 and U12 players need a Size 4 ball. U14 and U18 players need a Size 5 ball.

What equipment does the league provide?For Fall Season, the league provides a jersey, shorts, and socks. You will need to provide cleats, shin guards, and a ball. For Spring Season, the league will provide a jersey. You will need to provide socks, shorts, cleats, shin guards, and a ball. However, the socks and shorts do not need to match the jersey or teammates and can be any color. We recommend buying black shorts and socks to compliment any jersey color.
